Mackenzie and Julia met in 2020 at a previous job. At the time, Julia was managing a team of pastry chefs and Mackenzie was one of them and her star-pupil! She got to witness the beginnings of Julia’s solo-venture and start of Little Loaf as she was present during her transition out of her last pastry-related job. Mackenzie often volunteered time to help Julia during the beginning stages of Little Loaf as her obsession for bread mirrored Julia’s! The two of them spent many early mornings and late nights together shaping bread, mixing dough, putting together pastries etc. etc. They bonded over their passion for this trade and re-connected this year (2024) to talk. As it seemed like fate, Little Loaf happened to be looking to hire a pastry chef the day they met in person to reconnect after years of separation. After their meeting, Julia reached back out to Mackenzie professionally and asked if she’d like to join the team! Since that day, she has been one of us and works full-time in the back! She is the first employee that we have trained in dough lamination and has taken over the majority of our laminated dough production! She does much more than this, but her ability to take this task on is worth mentioning in itself! Mackenzie is someone we can rely on and we are proud to have on the team!
